Education
Director of Education: Stephen O'Toole

The responsibilities of the Education Director center around providing learning opportunities for all age levels. He oversees the work of the Education Committee and the School Oversight Committee. The Education Committee aids in the organization of Sunday School, Weekday School, Vacation Bible School, Pre-Kindergarten, and other Bible classes and programs.

The Sunday School offers learning opportunities for ages three and over, including the High School and Adult Bible classes.

The Weekday School/Catechism Instruction meets each Wednesday evening during the school year from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and includes a hot meal. Grades one through eight attend this program, which constitutes essentially an eight-year program to prepare our children to partake of the Lord’s Supper.

Vacation Bible School is held in the mornings for a week in the summer. Opportunities for service include teachers, helpers, recreation leaders, handicrafts instructors, and kitchen helpers. Furnishing snacks is also a most welcome service during the week.

The School Oversight Committee is responsible for recommending the hiring of the Pre-Kindergarten Director, teachers, and all other contract educational staff as well as oversight of the Christ Lutheran Pre-Kindergarten.

Christ Lutheran Church maintains a Lutheran Pre-Kindergarten for children ages three through six years, not limited to members of the parish family. Five different sessions – a five-day afternoon, a three-day morning, a three-day afternoon, a two-day morning, and a two-day afternoon – are available for these students.
